The outstanding features of our ski area have primarily been kept secret by some of the greatest Canadian connoisseur skiers and is now coming out of hiding.....FERNIE previously known as "SNOW VALLEY" is situated in the beautiful Elk Valley and amidst the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies nestled in the south east corner of British Columbia.
This small town was originally a bustling mining community and it's many beautiful old buildings stand to this day giving character to this mountain resort.
Fernie ski hill, situated 3Km from the town, gets more snow than just about anywhere in the world. The winter season here is one of the longest and has a larger snowfall guarantee than any other resort in the Canadian Rockies and terrain varies for all levels of skiers and boarders, with well groomed cruisers, vast bowls, tree skiing, and steep cliffs for the more advanced.
The purchase of the resort by the Ski Louise group has led to an exciting expansion program which has doubled the terrain and added new facilities for visitors. More recent developments have made Fernie an international resort.
Fernie is not only renowned for some of the best natural powder but also virtually no crowds, maximizing your skiing time.
